About Us

Alex has been involved within the marine industry as a marine engineer for the last 22 years.  He is a trained MerCruiser technician, Mastervolt installer and Webasto heating service/installation engineer.  

Alex previously owned a boat brokerage and marine engineering company before becoming a qualified and fully insured marine surveyor.

Having a marine engineering background, it allows him to confidently inspect a variety of vessels and all of the vessel systems including engines and outdrives.

Alex is a registered surveyor at The International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS) and is indemnified by full professional indemnity insurance.

 After working as an Audiologist and Tinnitus counsellor within the NHS for 14 years, Julie decided to dedicate her time in developing the company Alex Lloyd Marine Surveyor, as well as Lloyds Marine and Leisure.

Julie works in the office and also works in the workshop, bringing a hands-on approach to both roles.

 Meet Dougal, our friendly Labrador. He's not just our van or workshop mascot, he's a key part of our team! Always ready to greet everyone with a bounce and a wagging tail.
